First written in 1979, August Wilson’s drama Jitney has been through many productions and many changes before becoming the play that is now being presented at Second Stage Theater. This is the story of a father who fights to keep the world from crumbling around him when his son returns home after spending 20 years in prison. He attempts to form a relationship with his estranged son, while his business and neighborhood collapse around him. Another searing drama from the author of numerous Tony Award-winning plays.
