Shakespeare?s Globe Theatre makes its BAM debut with an adventurous production of Shakespeare?s late work, the experimental Cymbeline. The production features the Globe?s artistic director, actor Mark Rylance. The play?which includes palace intrigue, marital jealousy, mistaken identity, and family strife in locations as diverse as Italy, Wales, and Rome?is considered one of Shakespeare?s most difficult to stage due to its intricate plot and large cast. Director Mike Alfreds distills the Globe?s production to its essence, using only six actors to portray the more than 30 characters.
