About This Show

Captain Louie is a musical for all ages, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell, Pippin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Prince of Egypt). Based on the acclaimed children’s book The Trip, by Ezra Jack Keats, Captain Louie has a libretto by Anthony Stein and is directed by Meridee Stein. Performed by a company of talented young actors, the show received glowing reviews earlier this year in a limited engagement at the York Theater. Captain Louie is being produced by Meridee Stein, Kurt Peterson and Bob Reich.

Young Louie feels lonely and without friends in his new neighborhood.
Looking for something to cheer himself up on Halloween Night, Louie returns to his old neighborhood in an imaginative journey on the wings of his magical toy, his little red plane. The story is full of tricks and treats,
but most of all Captain Louie is about friendship – the ability to make
new friends and the importance of old ones.
