About the Show

Broadway by the Year, Town Hall’s critically acclaimed new musical theatre series celebrating Broadway’s past, returns! The series, created, written, and hosted by author/critic Scott Siegel features Broadway and cabaret stars singing the music born on Broadway in shows from each of the following years:

February 17 — 1925
The Coconuts (The Marx Brothers with an Irving Berlin score), No No Nanette, Sunny (Kern/Hammerstein/Harbach), Tell Me More (George & Ira Gershwin), and more!

March 17 — 1939
DuBarry Was a Lady (Cole Porter), The Hot Mikado (revue), Stars in Your Eyes (Arthur Schwartz/Dorothy Fields), Too Many Girls (Rodgers & Hart), and more!

May 12 — 1953
Can-Can (Cole Porter), Kismet (Borodin/Wright & Forrest), Me and Juliet (Rodgers & Hammerstein), Wonderful Town (Leonard Bernstein/Comden & Green), and more!

June 9 — 1960
Bye Bye Birdie (Charles Strouse/Lee Adams), Camelot (Lerner/Loewe), Greenwillow (Frank Loesser), The Unsinkable Molly Brown (Meredith Wilson) and more!
