Nativity: A Life Story

The creators — James Stovall, Hattie Winston, Harold Wheeler — bring Nativity in a special concert version downtown to Joe’s Pub with a stellar cast led by vets Lillias White & Keith David. Share the Christmas story from Mary’s perspective – based on the international Shrines of the Black Madonna – in a powerful concert of spoken word narrative, and music that is saturated with African traditional tunes, Gospel, Jazz and R&B.
