About This Show

Mike Lupica, author of Red Zone, is interviewed on stage by Pete Hamill.

Red Zone, the new novel from Mike Lupica, is a deliciously wicked tale about the wild world of professional football. A nationally syndicated columnist for The New York Daily News, a regular on ESPN’s “The Sports Reporters,” and the author of 14 books, Mike Lupica is renowned as a sports expert, and brings all of that special knowledge to his novels. In Red Zone, unorthodox pro football team owner Jack “Jammer” Malloy (who inherited the “legendary” New York Hawks from his father in Lupica’s 2000 football novel, Bump and Run, and took them to the Super Bowl) becomes embroiled in more outrageous schemes as he tries to deal with a new co-owner. When Malloy enlists the help of old friends and new allies, taking one last stand and betting it all on one last play in the red zone, things begin to really get interesting.
