“Singular and arresting. A single breath exhales the stoic lament of a wandering spirit. Ms. Maggart’s voice fuses with the material into avowals of sadness and devotion that sigh like the wind in the eaves.” – Stephen Holden, The New York Times, October 2005
Maude Maggart, the haunting new vocalist hailed as a “wondrous young chanteuse” by Time Out New York, returns to The Oak Room with “Comes Love,” an all-new show of love songs for Valentine’s Day. She is joined by musical director Lanny Meyers leading a trio of musicians. Her new show includes classic love songs such as "Skylark," "I Can’t Get Started," "All The Things You Are" and "The Song Is You," in addition to rarely-heard vintage compositions by Kurt Weill ("The River Is So Blue"), Jerome Kern ("Let’s Begin") and Harry Warren ("Coffee in the Morning, Kisses at Night").
