About This Show

Come check out Joe’s rare solo gig at the Pub that bares his name. It’s just Joe at a piano, singing and playing for your listening pleasure his songs about pornos, garage bands, ADD, and sweet, sweet love. He does cuts from his garage band musical, The Black Suits, along with a bunch of old favorites and even a couple fresh new tunes. The show features a few super special guest stars, as well as members of Joe’s regular posse of musical theater, rock ‘n’ rolling, show tune punks. This show promises to be the greatest event in the history of music, theater, and the world. No, for real. I’m so serious, dude; so serious.

Joe Iconis is a Long Island native and a grad of the great NYU/Tisch Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program. He is the proud recipient of a 2006 Jonathan Larson Award and a 1992 Garden City Elementary School Vocal Music Award. A concert of Joe’s songs, Things To Ruin, has rocked Ars Nova, NYMF, and Joe’s Pub. Joe’s musical, The Black Suits (music and lyrics by Joe, book by Joe and Robert Maddock), opens off-Broadway later in the year. Joe proudly rips off from The Ramones, Dolly Parton, Weezer, The Rolling Stones, and many of his other idols. He is greatly inspired by Robert Altman movies, Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, and the viciously talented gang of actors/singers/musicians he frequently surrounds himself with.
