Jaleel Shaw Quartet

Jaleel Shaw sees his experiences of growing
up in Philadelphia, attending the Berklee
School of Music, and breaking out on the
New York Jazz scene as all essential to
shaping his music. Whether performing live
or recording in the studio these influences
resonate throughout his work.

Shaw provides a wonderful example of how
jazz is done right. Critics say he is “the real
deal”. The Philadelphia-based and Grammy
nominated alto saxophonist delivers a level
of maturity and awareness inspired by his
long tenure with the Mingus Big Band and
most recently, the Roy Haynes Quartet.
