In The Middle of The Fields

Deirdre Kinahan, (Best Production "Bogboy", 2011 Origin 1st Irish Awards) returns to 1st Irish with this site-specific US premiere production was staged at P Street Beach Park by Solas Nua in DC (Rex Daugherty artistic director) in May/June 2021, to major acclaim. This filmed version of the production, staged outdoors in one of the first live-assembly productions in DC during the pandemic, features Jessica Lefkow, Caroline Dubberly and Ryan Sellers. In this poetically spoken and staged play, Eithne (played by Lefkow), who is undergoing chemo-therapy for breast cancer, wonders what her life will be like on the other side of recovery from a deadly disease. The Washington Post said the production “could hardly be more pertinent at this stage of the pandemic: Is there reason for hope? (…) How to make the most of a new beginning?”
