About This Show

In Association with The European Dream Festival

Even in the age of eclecticism, singer Erika Stucky is quite an exception from the ordinary. The Swiss-American singer’s lietmotiv is to have “serious fun.” Joined onstage by Roots of Communication, with alphorns, giant shells, drums and trombone, a totally new and unexpected blend of pop, jazz and folk results; a spectrum from homey alpine folklore to urban pipe dream.

From September 20 through October 31, 2006, the first ever European Dream Festival will present the most vibrant, innovative, and cutting-edge productions in theater, music, dance, film, and literature from today’s Europe of disappearing borders and expanding cultural diversity. Taking place at 20 prime New York City venues, the European Dream Festival is an unprecedented concerted effort by a great number of European countries, including new and aspiring members of the European Union, and shall become an annual or biennial event. The European Dream Festival was initiated by the Czech Center, the French Institute Alliance Francaise, the Goethe-Institut, and the Italian Cultural Center, all in New York, and is supported by the European Union.
