About This Show

After her sold out Valentine’s Day Massacres of 2004 and 2006, internationally acclaimed vocalist and virtuoso pianist Diamanda Galás returns to The Knitting Factory for a new spellbinding night of tragic and homicidal love songs. With sophisticated vocal weaponry that includes the full extent of a three-and-a-half octave vocal range and a dazzling array of moods, the avant-garde diva passionately assaults the senses, opening the veins of fresh, bountiful love before inhabiting the wretched inner world of the brokenhearted. Ranging from lush to scabrous, romantic to carnivorous, and remorseful to unrepentant, this utterly compelling program of 13 favorites and classic covers promises to rip your heart out.

With her 2007 Valentine’s Day Massacre, Galás debuts material from her two forthcoming MUTE albums, Guilty Guilty Guilty and You’re My Thrill. The concert is presented as part of The Knitting Factory’s 20th anniversary celebration.
