Nominated for 3 Tony Awards including Best Play!
Tony Award nominee and four-time Olivier Award winner Fiona Shaw (HBO’s True Blood) makes her first return to Broadway since 2003 in the one-woman play The Testament of Mary. Adapted from Colm Tóibín’s novella, The Testament of Mary takes place after Jesus’ crucifixion where we find Mary grieving the loss of her son. While two of Jesus’ followers are shaping his story to suit their own purposes, Mary questions her son’s divinity as she tells the story of Jesus from a maternal point of view. Tony Award nominee and two-time Olivier Award winner Deborah Warner (Medea) directs.
