The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel is pleased to welcome one of the finest and most noted cabaret stars, Andrea Marcovicci, in her long-awaited Café Carlyle debut. "SMILE" was greeted with rave reviews during its national tour in preparation for the show's east coast premiere at the Café Carlyle. She will be joined by her longtime musical director Shelly Markham on piano, Jered Egan on bass, and Jack Cavari on guitar. The New York Times' Stephen Holden has said "To watch Ms. Marcovicci in action is to observe a great singing actress interpreting lyrics with every fiber of her body… you are under her spell." "SMILE" has been released on CD by Andreasong Recordings, Inc. and will be available at the Café Carlyle. Beloved songs featured in the show: "You Make Me Feel So Young", "Life is Just Bowl of Cherries", "Ain't We Got Fun", "It Had to be You", and "It's Only a Paper Moon." Also included, Ms. Marcovicci's passionate version of Pink's pop hit, "Glitter in the Air". For 25 years, Ms. Marcovicci has been a cabaret institution, residing annually at The Algonquin Hotel's legendary Oak Room until its closing this year. She holds the record for her 25 years and 16 week run at The Algonquin.
