The Magic Circle Opera Repertory Ensemble, Inc. presents the first American Masters Arts Festival Biennial concert, saluting legendary American composer Ned Rorem on his birthday. Called America Honors Ned Rorem – An 80th Birthday Gala, the black tie evening features top Broadway and classical opera stars performing two of Rorem’s one act operas, “Four Dialogues” and “A Childhood Miracle,” plus the World Premiere of The Stan Tucker Vocal Ensemble debuting 3 new choral settings of Rorem’s art songs as well as performing excerpts from “Four Madrigals,” “From An Unknown Past” and “Little Prayers.” The evening, conducted by Stan Tucker, features Metropolitan Opera star Delores Ziegler, Broadway stars Marc Kudisch and Lisa Vroman, plus Edward Albee and Schuyler Chapin. The concert offers a unique melding of Broadway and opera both in the performers and the style of the musical presentations.
