About the Show

Grammy-nominee Alfredo Rodriguez sets out to do something from his piano bench that isn’t being done by many composers at the moment: Bridging mainstream Latin sounds—like Latin pop, timba, salsa, bachata, tango, reggaeton and bolero—with jazz. Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Rodriguez’s music calls upon his roots just as much as his newer state-side experiences in Los Angeles and Miami; the birth of his baby girl; and finally reuniting in the same city as his extended family. Embodying joy and community, Rodriguez has created a sound that serves as the connective tissue between many worlds—an artistic statement for the diverse Latin community to be seen, be heard, and take pride in their history, while celebrating individuality and fostering unity. Lobby opens one hour prior to performance time with concessions available for purchase both before and after the performance.
