Alexa Ray Joel

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Alexa Ray Joel returns to Café Carlyle for her fifth engagement, Reviewing a previous engagement at the Café, The New York Times called Joel, daughter of music legend Billy Joel and supermodel Christie Brinkley, “a singer following her own heart,” adding, “Her original work… is firmly grounded in a pop tradition in which streams converge, from gospel to Tin Pan Alley. The songs are bluntly melodic, lyrically direct and catchy.” Since she was 15, Joel has been writing complete songs and complementing those songs with piano accompaniment, and writing poetry. At Café Carlyle, Alexa Ray Joel will perform original material in addition to giving her signature style to a set of popular songs.
