Ailey II

The company performs its first two-week New York season in its home at The Joan Weill Center for Dance. Performances to feature new works and Ailey classics.

Ailey II is the celebrated junior ensemble of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Under Sylvia Waters’ artistic direction, Ailey II dancers have repeatedly amazed audiences with their artistry, strength and passion. This year’s audiences will be treated to three new works including the beautiful “Splendid Isolation II” by Jessica Lang, the powerful “Celestial Landscape” by Darrell Grand Moultrie, and the theatrical “Axis” by Abdel Salaam. Also on the program is a revival of Alvin Ailey’s technically challenging “Streams” and “Ailey Highlights,” a diverse program of classic works by Alvin Ailey.
