About This Show

The Guggenheim Museum’s “Works & Process” series features a special event in association with New York City Opera’s production of Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music.

Sondheim’s masterpiece, based on the romantic intrigues and entanglements of one fateful summer night, garnered five Tony Awards in 1974 including Best Musical, Best Music and Lyrics (Sondheim), and Best Book (Hugh Wheeler). The event presents a visit to City Opera’s acclaimed 1990 production with current cast members and a panel discussion featuring Stephen Sondheim, director Scott Ellis, and choreographer Susan Stroman.
