20/20 Reading Series: The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui

The 20/20 Reading Series is a 2017 series of readings of anti-fascist and political plays speaking to the current political climate. The intent of the series is to maintain a clear vision while looking at the challenges facing people today and to help find a path to the 2020 election. All proceeds from the readings will go to organizations working to ensure a safe, open, and just society.

The series starts with The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, a satirical allegory of the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party in Germany prior to World War Two. Starring multi-Tony Award winner Christian Borle (Falsettos) as Arturo Ui, this classic play by Bertolt Brecht will be read at a New York City historic landmark that has often been at the forefront of social change and activism: Judson Memorial Church.
