Dante Hall Theater of the Arts presents Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre’s The Celtic Connection. This vibrant program, set amidst a colorful “harvest festival,” celebrates northern Spain’s historical Celtic heritage through Spanish and Irish dances and music such as Jotas from N. Spain, Irish jigs, the Galician Muniera, Irish reels, Classical and Escuela Bolera Spanish dances, and Irish step dances. The exciting show includes an original musical composition written and performed by Alborada’s Music Director Carlos Revollar — who will be accompanied by the Irish band Coolmagort, under the artistic direction of Patty Furlong.
This piece compliments a Classical Spanish Zapateado dance choreographed by Eva Lucena with entrancing footwork solos by her and Niall O’Leary. Featured artists from Centro Oresano — a New Jersey cultural group that performs Celtic-influenced N. Spanish dances and music — and the Niall O’Leary Irish Dance Troupe also appear as part of the presentation.
