About This Show

A hilarious farce set in Italy, Scapin is the story of a scheming servant who brilliantly tricks two fathers out of the money that their sons need to support the women they want to marry. Written by the master of comedy, Moliere, the world of Scapin is one where bands of thugs and clever ne’r-do-wells coexist happily along-side the sheltered daughters of wealthy merchants.

Scapin offers a special opportunity for audiences to enjoy the style of Commedia dell’Arte, from which almost all modern comic characters spring, including some of the most recognizable of television “Situation Comedies.”
