About This Show

Shakespeare pits the willful Kate against the equally stubborn Petruchio in his battle of the sexes The Taming of the Shrew. Director Mark Lamos breathes new life into the work by staging it as it originally was in Shakespeare’s time: with an all-male company of actors! To further explore the play’s themes of role-playing, transformation and charged sexuality, Lamos’s retro-revolutionary staging takes place in the social milieu of today’s Latino world and combines elements of new media – video and documentary art – with traditional theatre magic.
