The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra: Bach’s Fifth Partita

Hang on tight for an energetic program full of intricate harmonies that overlap and intertwine. In the first half of the program, SPCO woodwinds pass Afro-Latin melodies back and forth like a dance in Paquito d’Rivera’s "Aires Tropicales". Then, we shift back a couple hundred years to dance in the Baroque era with Johann Sebastian Bach. It’s easy to lose yourself in the winding journey as the music spirals between winds and strings.
