Stu Naber directs Moliere’s Tartuffe for Shakespeare & Company. Tartuffe, a cunning cheat, has so firmly established himself as a “holy man” in Orgon’s bourgeois household, that the master has promised him his daughter and disinherited his son. As this lecher lusts for his host’s wife, and covets his earthly wealth, Orgon’s family and friends labor to expose him as a pious fraud in this satire of religious hypocrisy.
