Jack Worthing has invented a cad of a brother named Ernest, an identity he assumes when frolicking in London. Gwendolen finds his alias irresistable, but her mother will not consent. Upon discovering Jack’s double life, his friend Algernon embarks on his own deception. Claiming to be Ernest, he arrives at Jack’s country manor and promptly falls for Jack’s ward, Cecily. Deceptions unravel and humor builds as paths cross in Oscar Wilde’s comic farce The Importance of Being Earnest.
