Once on This Island

Based on the novel My Love, My Love by Rosa Guy, this enchanting musical is a jubilant and life-affirming Caribbean folktale told by a group of peasants as they wait out a violent storm. Once on This Island tells the story of Ti Moune, an orphaned peasant girl who rescues, nurses, and falls in love with Daniel, a young aristocrat. Challenged by the taboo of intermingling between the aristocrats and the peasants, Ti Moune fights the powers of prejudice, hatred and death with love on her side.
