New York City
Set in the 1920s, Cheaper by the Dozen is a story of the Gilbreths which chronicles the joys and challenges of caring for a family of 12 children, as Frank, a motion study expert, and his wife, Lillian Moller Gilbreth, a psychologist, navigate the family through the typical crises and events of youth: tonsillectomies (multiple, in this case), proms, school enrollment, and the like. Unfortunately Frank also tries to apply his industrial efficiency techniques in raising his twelve children, with often-hilarious results.
