About This Show

Music and Lyrics by Bob Merrill & Jule Styne • Book by Isobel Lennart, Jule Styne, & Bob Merrill  • Directed by Maura Hanlon • Musical Direction by Scott Storr.

Set in New York in early 1900’s, this is the story of vaudeville, radio, film and theater comedienne, Fanny Brice.  From her Brooklyn beginnings as a star-struck Jewish teenager who fast-talked and wise-cracked her way into show business, to her turn as the toast of New York, to the unraveling of her personal life,  Funny Girl is a richly told tour de force to be performed  by Cape Rep favorite, Trish LaRose.  This American classic musical features the great music of Jule Styne, including the hits “People” and “Don’t Rain on My Parade.”
