Dirty Blonde is by Claudia Shear and directed by Emily Swanson. Jo, an aspiring actress, and Charlie, a film archivist, are passionate Mae West fans who meet at their idol’s gravesite. As they come to know and love one another, flashbacks reveal Mae West’s own incredible, self-inventing drive from relative obscurity to outrageous sex symbol. A bawdy comedy with music—New York Times reviewer Ben Brantley called Dirty Blonde a “smart, tough, and tender-hearted comedy…hands down the best new American play of the season.”
