About This Show

Come catch the bouquet! Or not!! Wives is a fun, moving collection of 8 individual short plays each portraying an aspect of “wifehood.” The plays range from absurd to comedic to dramatic. A bride in full bridal gown takes us through the plays with amusing, surprising tales of the real origin of wedding customs – and they are not what you might think!

See the Boston premiere of this award-winning play being brought to the Boston Playwrights’ Theatre after it’s highly successful run at the West End Theatre in Gloucester. Writer and director, M. Lynda Robinson is a Norton Award winning actor and her play, Wives, has won numerous awards including several Kennedy Center Awards for several of the individual plays, as well as a national play-writing award. Many of the individual plays have been selected for short play festivals such as the Boston Theatre Marathon.
