Jeffrey Hatcher’s adaptation of TURN OF THE SCREW by Henry James receives a Boston Area Professional Premiere under the direction of Steven Mahler at New Repertory Theatre in Newton Highlands, MA. A young governess to two disturbed children tries to draw out her young charges. But everything that happens in this strange
household suggests her predecessor and a former servant, both now dead, continue to maintain an oppressive control over the children. In a tale that blends the psychological, the sexual and the supernatural the question becomes, “who sees the ghosts and are they really there?”
