About This Show

For twelve long years, the rightful Duke of Milan – Prospero – has been banished on an island where his magic reigns supreme. Banished there by his jealous brother Antonio – with no small bit of help from King Alonso – he has only his daughter Miranda, frightful slave Caliban, and Ariel the fairy. But then, his chance for comeuppance reveals itself as a ship of royals, including Alonso and Antonio, sails too close to the island. Prospero conjures a tempest to run them aground for a confrontation. One of Shakespeare’s last plays, The Tempest features love, jealousy, power and magic; it is Shakespeare at his finest.
