About This Show

Boston Theatre Works presents Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Director Jason Slavick warms the winter spirit with this classic comedy about Prospero, a Duke banished to an abandoned island by his power-hungry brother. When he seizes opportunity for retribution with a mystical storm that shipwrecks his brother and other nobles on the island, Prospero learns that he must surrender his power to regain his soul. The Tempest unites Shakespeare’s classic themes of love, loss, vengeance and forgiveness with contemporary American themes of justice and the use and abuse of power.

No performance Saturday January 15, Thursday January 20, or Saturday January 29th.
