In Aristophanes’ Lysistrata, Athens and Sparta have been at war for years with no end in sight. Lysistrata, an Athenian woman, has a solution and unites the women of the two cities in a general sex strike to force the soldiers to come to their senses. Robert Brustein’s new adaptation features music by Galt MacDermot (Hair) and lyrics by Matty Selman. Andrei Serban directs a cast that features Cherry Jones in the title role.
There are no performances on Wednesday, May 29 and Thursday, May 30. There is no 7:00pm performance on Sunday, May 19. There are Saturday performances at 2:00pm on May 18, June 1, and June 8. There are additional performances on Thursday, May 23 and Friday, 24 at 10:00am.
