The play, presented by Blue Pumpkin Productions, is an exploration of the Nazi tyranny that gripped Germany, and then Europe, in the 1930s and 40s and of the young German couple whose lives and home (at Kreisau) became the epicenter of high-level resistance to that terror. The story of this couple, Helmuth James and Freya von Moltke, is one of courageous resistance, but also of the search for a moral center of our civilization, making the play relevant not only to World War II history but to today’s current events.
