Marblehead Little Theatre is pleased to announce non-Equity auditions for Medea,
written by Euripides, translated by Diane Arnson Svarlien.
Betrayed by her husband, the Greek hero Jason, the sorceress Medea is humiliated and driven to violence in Euripides’ classic tale of a woman scorned. Far from home, and thrown into exile, she must plot not only her escape, but also her revenge on those who have wronged her. Nothing will stand in her way, not even her own flesh and blood.
Auditions are on Sunday, Aug. 2 from 3 to 6pm and Monday, Aug. 3 from 6 to 9pm with callbacks on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 7 pm. Video submissions will be accepted no later than August 3.
Please prepare for your audition two short monologues, one classical and one contemporary. You may perform them in either order and they do not need to contrast in tone.
There will be 12 performances from Oct 2 to Oct 18, 2026.
