Twelve Angry Men

Richard Thomas and George Wendt star in the national tour of Twelve Angry Men, written by Reginald Rose and directed by Scott Ellis. This Roundabout Theatre Company production ran on Broadway and earned three Tony Award nominations in 2005.

Twelve jurors, bound by the acceptance of their civic duty, are thrust together in a hot, humid room to deliberate the guilt or innocence of a boy accused of killing his father. What seems like a quick and easy guilty verdict by 11 of the jurors is stubbornly contested by the 12th — the man simply referred to as Juror 8 — in a riveting contest of wills. Soon, in the debate that follows, it isn’t just the perceived actions of the accused, but also the personal histories of the jurors – all from different backgrounds – that could decide the outcome of the case. Twelve Angry Men is as much a blistering character study as it is a taut murder mystery. Juror 8, in the best American tradition, demonstrates that one person can speak up and actually make a difference.
