Jenifer, although worried about her sick six-year-old daughter, accompanies her actor husband Jonathan to Los Angeles, where he hopes to land a leading role in a big budget movie. They stay with Michael, a gay social worker, who?in addition to being Jonathan’s childhood friend?had a secret affair with Jenifer just before she married Jonathan a decade ago. Jenifer fears that her daughter’s illness might be AIDS that she might have contracted from Michael.
