At a time when “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” has become a political hot potato, LETTERS HOME serves as a reminder of the harassment inflicted upon one particular lesbian who only wished to serve her country with honor and dignity. Dee Jae Cox’s personal nightmare in the Army occurred before “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” was even implemented and the play underscores the fact that nothing much has changed.
