How to Be Japanese: Your Normal Is Not My Normal

About This Show

Due to popular demand, Miyo Yamauchi’s solo show How to Be Japanese: Your Normal Is Not My Normal will return after her first solo show at the Hollywood Fringe was sold out in the first 48 hours and also featured on the National Storytelling Network this June.

When you enter a new culture, you’re the outsider. All of us at some times or in some ways feel like outsiders. And that provides an excellent vantage point to question the status quo, Yamauchi navigates you to view your normal from a different perspective through her odd world. When we understand the differences, we begin to recognize the similarities. And maybe when you’re laughing at her and her crazy adventures, you may realize you’re also laughing at yourself a bit.

“Wow! Fun. Relatable. Touching. Brilliant. Insightful. Miyo’s brings her special brand of humor to some very complicated and sensitive human matters.” (Ty Fance/Storyteller)
