About this show

This musical interpretation of George Bernard Shaw's classic, Pygmalion, revolves around the uneducated Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl with a dreadful English accent. Eliza becomes the center of a bet between a worldly linguist, Colonel Pickering, and the self-absorbed phoenticist, Mr. Henry Higgins (Antony Hagopian). Pickering wagers that Higgins cannot make good on a claim to teach Eliza to speak and act like a proper lady. With that an intensive make over of Eliza's speech, manners, and dress begins in preperation for a final test in which she is required to pass as a lady at the Embassy Ball.
