About This Show

The Royal Court Theatre presents Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull in a new adaptation by Christopher Hampton. One of the great plays about writing, Chekhov’s masterpiece superbly captures the struggle for new forms and the frustrations and fulfilments of putting words on a page. The show also stages a vital argument about the theatre that still resonates today. Ian Rickson directs.

The cast of The Seagull includes Denise Black, Mackenzie Crook, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Paul Jesson, Art Malik, Carey Mulligan, Christopher Patrick Nolan, Katherine Parkinson, Mary Rose, Pearce Quigley, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Peter Wight.
