New York City
This Washington premiere is a lively musical adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s classic stories about Mowgli, a boy who is adopted by the wolves, brought up in the forest and taught by Baloo, the bear, and Bagheera, the jaguar. Mowgli is preyed upon by the evil tiger, Shere Kahn and plagued by the dreadful jokesters, the monkeys. When his life is in jeopardy, he must draw upon his knowledge of both the animal and human worlds in order to survive–and triumph. The Jungle Book features audience participation.
