About This Show

International opera star Bryn Terfel and Olivier Award winners Maria Friedman, Daniel Evans, and Philip Quast star in the Royal Festival Hall’s concert presentation of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s Sweeney Todd. David Freeman directs.

The show is part of the celebratory reopening season at the RFH, which closed for the past two years while undergoing a £111 million refurbishment. It will also feature the London Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Stephen Barlow, along with Adrian Thompson, Steve Elias, and the Maida Vale Singers.

Sweeney Todd is a thriller set in Victorian London, and based on the infamous tale of the vengefully bloodthirsty barber and his pie-making proprietress.
