About This Show

When Clifford’s suburban family explodes into divorce and violence, he runs — and finds an unlikely protector in Sir John, a master of the spoken word and aspiring hip-hop producer with a mysterious past. Sir John teaches Clifford to use hip-hop to find his voice — and discovers a talent that just might take the world by storm. As Clifford ascends to stardom as the phenom Clay, his world is turned upside down by a past that won’t let loose.

An explosive performance in a rock-and-roll fable featuring an arresting and original hip-hop score. Clay is written and performed by Matt Sax, developed in collaboration with and directed by Eric Rosen.
