New York City
It is 1979 and Esme Allen has it all. A successful actress, she is at the pinnacle of her career and passionate about the West End stage where she earns a comfortable living. A visit from her daughter Amy, with a new boyfriend, a brash young gossip columnist and film critic, sets in motion a series of events that reach their shattering conclusion 16 years later.
This production marks the first major revival of David Hare’s Amy’s View since its premiere at the National in 1997 and incorporates the revisions Hare made for the subsequent Broadway production.
