About This Show

Bring a blanket, lawn chair, or take a seat in the bleachers for a delightful and joyous evening under the stars as Summer Shakespeare returns to Olney Theatre’s Root Family Stage at Will’s Place (“Will” being William Shakespeare) to kick off this year’s U.S. tour with the epic masterpiece The Tempest.

Written and produced around 1610, The Tempest (the last of Shakespeare’s plays) is an enchanting tale of love, magic, and mischief on the shores of an enchanted island. Prospero, the exiled Duke of Milan comes up with a plan to avenge a disservice that has been done to him, reclaim the title his brother stole, and, in the process, help his beautiful daughter find true love.
