About This Show

In 1943, when the US was involved in WWII, riots broke out in Los Angeles. They were provoked by the railroading of young Chicano gang members who were in the wrong place, at the wrong time. The explosions that were created were called the Zoot Suit riots. Playwright and director, Luis Valdez, took LA by storm when he premiered this masterwork. The production is passionate, provocative, and pulsates with the sounds of the 40’s Big Band music and traditional Latin songs.
