Vincent In Brixton (Storefront)

About the Show

Based on true elements of Vincent Van Gogh’s early life, Nicholas Wright’s Vincent In Brixton traces the transforming effects of love and artistic awakening on unformed talent and the birth of genius.

In 1873, a brash young Dutchman, working for the London branch of an international firm of art-dealers, rents a room in the house of an English widow. Vincent develops a rapport with a woman twice his age, which blossoms into a love affair, only to be cruelley curtailed by the arrival of his fiercely puritan young sister. Three years later, he returns to Europe on the first step of a journey that will end in breakdown, death and immortality.

Recommended for 13 years and older.
